ABA AIDS Coordinating Committee
HIV/AIDS Law and Practice Conference

National conferences on HIV/AIDS Law and Practice, organized by the AIDS Coordinating Committee, convene HIV/AIDS lawyers and policy advocates to examine complex legal and policy issues and explore innovative approaches to them. Building on these conferences, HIV/AIDS Law and Practice: From Local Client to Global Workforce, will add a new dimension, addressing the legal issues engendered by HIV’s impact on business and, in turn, the role of business (including business lawyers) in combating the pandemic. The 2008 Conference will be held in Dallas, Texas on April 9th and 10th at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. NLGLA is a proud sponsor of the 2008 Conference. The LGBT Political Agenda for 2008 and Beyond
Monday, April 14th, 6:30 PM
The LGBT Network at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP invites the legal community to join us for a candid and informative panel discussion regarding the LGBT community's federal political agenda for 2008 and beyond. With the 2008 general election nearing, the LGBT community faces the exciting prospect of having both a Congress and a President receptive to our political goals. In less than a year, several goals may be possible at the federal level: enacting meaningful hate crime legislation, ending Don't Ask Don't Tell, reforming discriminatory immigration and tax laws, providing equal access to federal resources for health and education, enacting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act -- the list goes on. Yet there are differing views within the LGBT community on which goals should be pursued, in what order, and with what concessions (if any), in the march toward equality. Sullivan & Cromwell LLP is proud to sponsor this panel discussion to foster the exchange of ideas about these issues. 125 Broad Street, Floor 37, New York, NY. For more information, please contact Kelly Smith, smithkj@sullcrom.com.
